Forged20 - In development

A World That
Remembers You

A single-player RPG played entirely through chat. You make choices, the Game Master narrates the world, and the game remembers what you did, the people you helped, the enemies you made, and the places you changed.

No downloads. No setup. Just you, the world, and a Game Master who never forgets what you've done. Coming soon, 2026.

What is Forged20?

A Living World
Game Engine.

Forged20 is built to feel like a real tabletop-style adventure delivered through chat. If you enjoy games like Dungeons & Dragons, the rhythm will feel familiar: character progression, dice-driven outcomes, and a world that stays coherent over time, built on the 5e System Reference Document (SRD) as its underlying foundation.

Architecture

No. Forged20 is being built as an actual game system with rules, constraints, and world logic behind the narration. The AI provides the voice of the world, but the engine is there to govern continuity, mechanics, and consequences.

Differentiator

Many AI RPG and AI dungeon master experiences rely heavily on the model context window. As the conversation grows, earlier details fall out of memory and the world starts to lose consistency. Forged20 is being built with a stronger underlying structure, with the goal of keeping the experience more coherent over time. Rather than relying only on the immediate conversation, we want the world to feel more stable and consistent as your adventure unfolds.

Worldbuilding

The core world is being built by us, homebrewed. Its locations, factions, quests, campaigns, and major characters are intentionally designed rather than generated on the fly.

The AI can then expand on that foundation during play by introducing side characters, encounters, and moment-to-moment developments as you explore.

The first world we build is meant to demonstrate what this engine can do.

Engine

It means the rules, dice rolls, character progression, memory, and the state of the world follow a consistent foundation rather than being left entirely to AI improvisation.

Longer term, we want players to be able to build their own worlds on top of that same foundation. Epic fantasy, zombie apocalypse, isekai adventures, or something stranger. All powered by the same core d20 system.

Current Milestone

Status — March 9, 2026

The core foundations are now in place. We have a working Game Master capable of narrating scenes, tracking the important pieces of the world, and maintaining consistency.

Our current focus is strengthening the systems behind the experience, refining the rule framework, improving how the Game Master interprets player actions, and expanding the mechanics that shape exploration, encounters, and progression.

Once those pieces are solid, the next step will be building the first playable region of the world.

Why build this?

Like a lot of people, we tried the obvious thing first: open a chat window and ask the AI to be our dungeon master. For a moment, it felt magical. The story moved. The choices felt real. You could almost see the kind of game this could become.

Then the cracks showed. The world forgot what happened five minutes ago. Your gear changed. Characters lost track of who you were. The story kept going, but the illusion broke.

That frustration turned into the idea behind Forged20: what if the narration stayed flexible, but the world itself had structure? What if the game could actually remember what happened, enforce real rules, and keep the story coherent over long play sessions?

Glowing d20 illustration

That's what we're trying to build. Not just a fantasy-flavored chat app, but a proper D&D-style RPG experience for people who want the freedom of AI storytelling without giving up continuity, consequence, and game logic.

The goal is simple: a world that remembers you, a campaign that holds together, and a solo adventure worth getting invested in.

The Architect

By day, a senior full-stack engineer building production systems, designing backend architecture, optimizing databases, and solving the kind of technical problems that punish shortcuts.

By night, a Cleric convinced every encounter can be solved with courage, bad positioning, and one more cast of Guidance.

While You Wait

Adventures Worth Watching

Waiting for a new world to open can take time. In the meantime, here are a few campaigns and creators we love. The kind of stories that remind us why we're building this.

Critical Role

Epic Storytelling

Deep character arcs, emotional storytelling, and a sprawling campaign world that evolves over hundreds of hours of play.
